Chicago food bloggers Vivian and Michelle joined owner Kiran for a tasting tour of our Niles menu, and wrote it up as a “gastronomic journey to Nepal.” Some highlights from their visit:
They arrived for a late weekend lunch expecting to miss the crowd — and found the dining room still packed with families, which they took as a very good sign.
The tour started with appetizers from the weekend buffet, then moved to a sizzling plate of tandoori. Their recommendation: the Mix Grill — tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, lamb kabob, and fish tikka. The mahi mahi fish tikka was a first for them, and a delicious one.
For dessert they tried falooda — ice cream with rose syrup, jelly, poppy seeds, and noodles — and had fun sipping the noodles up through the straw. Alongside the usual tea and lassi, they noted we were one of the only places in the area importing Haywards 5000 beer.
