Niles is holding its Founders Day Celebration again this year — Saturday, August 29, 4:00–8:00 PM at Golf Mill Park (9101 N. Greenwood Avenue), with free entertainment, food trucks, family activities, a live concert, and fireworks to close out the night. This year’s event also ties into the America 250 celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, so expect a bit of extra spirit in the air. The full entertainment lineup hasn’t been announced yet — check the Village of Niles’ official event page closer to the date for the latest details.
A small bit of Founders Day history: the very first celebration, back in August 2025, got cut short by a sudden hailstorm that sent everyone running for cover in the nearest JCPenney. This year’s the redo — hopefully with better weather.
